Seahawks GM: No surgery in ’13 for Michael Bennett

Schneider told KJR-AM’s Mitch Levy on Tuesday thatBennett will play with the injury this season, just as he did last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“It’s not a situation,” Schneider said. “Our medical staff felt comfortable with it, especially on a one-year deal.”

While several teams reportedly were interested in Bennett this offseason, the Seahawks were able to get him on a one-year, $5 million contract for what was perceived to be way below his market value. We found out a few days later that the bargain had a price — Bennett’s injured shoulder.

Elvis Dumervil’s five-year deal with Ravens is official

Dumervil’s five-year deal is for a maximum of $35 million. It includes $12 million in guaranteed money and $8.5 million for the 2013 season. However, all but $1 million of that will be paid out in a signing bonus, meaning Dumervil’s cap hit for the coming season will be $2.5 million. That leaves the reigning Super Bowl champions with about $5 million of salary cap space to address their other needs, which include a left tackle, middle linebacker and safety.

a NFL gay player have seen playing

Mike Freeman reported in CBSSports.com that gay player has coming out publicity in the next few months in pursuing his career but he was never identified by Freeman.
There has never been an active openly gay player in a major North American team sport.

The player’s concern, according to the report, is not how his news would be received in the locker room. His concern is the possible harm he might suffer from homophobic fans.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Shopping CB Eric Wright

Wright was a disastrous signing for the Buccaneers last offseason, because they spent far too much money for a player who has chronically underachieved and put together one of the worst contract years in 2011 while with the Detroit Lions.

Brian Urlacher won’t be back with Chicago Bears

After 13 years as the centerpiece of the team, Brian Urlacher and the Bears are parting ways.

He showed great leadership and helped develop a winning culture over his time with the Bears. We appreciate all he has given our team, on and off the field. Brian will always be welcome as a member of the Bears.”
