 | Feature: BILLS BUSTED IN T.O.
|

The late Bob Ackles truly believed that the deal Rogers cut with the
Buffalo Bills would mean the beginning of the end of the Canadian
Football League in Toronto.

 | Brian Westbrook may still be on Rams wish list
|

As expected, second-year man Chris Ogbonnaya got plenty of work in
Saturday's preseason opener. But is backfield help on the way in the
form of ex-Philadelphia Eagle Brian Westbrook?
Reports Saturday indicated that Westbrook was leaning toward signing
with the Rams. That was news to Rams officials. But according to general
manager Billy Devaney, the team remains interested in signing Westbrook
and has been in steady contact with him over the offseason and
preseason.

 | Kraft briefly touches on Brady contract
|

Patriots owner Robert Kraft held court with a group of reporters by the
practice fields today. As he walked off, a couple of us followed him
toward the steps leading into the stadium.
Tom Brady's contract came up. Kraft was asked, "Anything shaking on the
front with No. 12?” He responded, rushing off from the noisy area,
"We're cooking." And when approached later about what he meant, he went
silent and seem even a little confused about the context (It was a
little hot out, so that could be it).

 | Feature: Jets and Darrelle Revis are $40 million apart on new deal
|

This is how far apart holdout cornerback Darrelle Revis and the Jets are
on 10-year proposals they each have on the table: A staggering $40
million.
And that doesn't even take into account the ongoing battle over signing bonus and guaranteed money.

 | Eagles receivers try to keep the peace
|
Like coworkers, family members and world nations, NFL teammates quarrel all the time and still manage to peacefully coexist.
But what happens when those teammates are starting receivers nearing the
prime of their careers playing for an offense with multiple weapons in a
league known for its diva-esque wideouts?

 | Miami Dolphins' A.J. Edds out for season with torn ACL
|

When the Dolphins drafted linebacker A.J. Edds in the fourth round in
April, general manager Jeff Ireland said he envisioned him playing in
third-down passing situations this season.
But Edds won't play at all as a rookie. The team confirmed Tuesday that
Edds sustained a torn ACL in his right knee during Monday's second
practice.
``He did a good job. A.J. looked like he had some really good promise,''
coach Tony Sparano said. ``A.J. will bounce back from this.'

 | No progress on Revis contract
|

Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum reached out to Darrelle Revis’
agents Monday night, but the contract impasse between the two sides
continued into a third day Tuesday.
Agent Neil Schwartz said Tannenbaum called "late, late [Monday] night," but he wanted to keep the conversation "confidential."

 | Favre: No decision; Bevell and agent say he'll play if healthy
|

Brett Favre said Wednesday he has not decided whether to retire as the Vikings's quarterback.
He said the money he stands to make this season -- perhaps as much as
$20 million -- won't influence his decision, but that the health of his
surgically-repaired ankle will.

 | Stallworth an early standout at camp
|
Wide receiver Donte' Stallworth started training camp as No. 2 behind
Mark Clayton as the slot or the No. 3 receiver, but it's going to be
hard keeping him off the field.
So far, Stallworth has had an excellent camp. He has had several long
catches for touchdowns, but also has run precise routs on the short
ones. More importantly, he has shown great acceleration and keeps making
yards after the catch, which was a problem for Ravens receivers last
season.

 | No Favre ... and no offense in Mankato
|

I'm in Mankato and have confirmed multiple reports that the Vikings are in deep doo-doo if No. 4 retires, which, of course, we all know he won't.
Here are some observations from one person who managed to stay interested for probably the majority of today's morning workout:
