Source: Rams to start work on deal
|
The St. Louis Rams and quarterback Sam Bradford's representatives are scheduled to meet Friday in St. Louis, according to a league source.
It is thought to be their first face-to-face meeting since the Rams selected Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. The two sides spoke before the draft, but could not complete a deal and tabled talks.
Whenever Bradford signs -- and nobody expects him to miss much, if any, training camp -- the deal will include the most guaranteed money in an NFL contract.

New York Jets Rumors Report: Jets trying to trade Ellis Shaun Ellis wonders if he has sacked his last quarterback for the Jets.
The 32-year-old defensive end, the team's longest-tenured player, is uncertain about his future with the Jets after asking for and being denied a contract extension. He told The Associated Press on Thursday that he's unsure if he'll even be with the team when the season begins in four months.
"I don't know," Ellis said. "I think so. Well, I hope so. You never know what they're thinking up there. You've just got to roll with it. We try to control our own fate, but we really can't." O'Connor: LT only makes the Jets weaker IAN O'CONNOR The Jets actually got younger Sunday when they hired a star worthy of the brightest Broadway lights, LaDainian Tomlinson, born 10 months and four days after the running back with a stagehand’s profile, a guy named Thomas Jones. Signs point to New York Kevin Acee I have not confirmed it beyond a shadow of a doubt, because there is some thought by those close to LaDainian Tomlinson that he is still considering his options. Jets, Jones' agent are set to meet BART HUBBUCH Despite one of the best years of his career last season, it's no secret that a different number -- the $5.8 million due him in roster bonuses and salary -- would determine Thomas Jones' future with the Jets. Along those lines, GM Mike Tannenbaum is expected to meet with the 32-year-old running back's agent here during the scouting combine this week, most likely to discuss Jones' willingness to accept a substantial pay cut to remain with the team. New York Jets sign kicker Nick Folk, could spell end for Jay Feely Rich Cimini Far apart in contract talks with incumbent kicker Jay Feely, who will be an unrestricted free agent March 5, the Jets signed former Cowboy Nick Folk to a one-year contract. Feely still wants to return to the Jets, according to his agent, Glenn Schwartzman. But Schwartzman also said it "made no sense to accept what they offered … We were left with no choice but to test the (free-agent) waters." Braylon Edwards wants to stick around past this season Dave Hutchinson/The Star Ledger Jets acrobatic wide receiver Braylon Edwards is doing his talking with his play and his mouth. And if he can stay off the police blotter, he and rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez could play pitch-and-catch for a long, long time.
